The Forbidden Kingdom (2008)

Jet Li and Jackie Chan, the two actors of martial arts cinema more media today have come together for the first time in “The Forbidden Kingdom,” a fantasy adventure and fights for all audiences, which tries to bring Eastern mythology to Western culture through a blockbuster made in Hollywood. In other words, the film takes a legend Japanese (which, as I read, is the same that inspired Toriyama “Dragon Ball”) and passes through the filter of “Matrix”, “Karate Kid” and many others.

The Bank Job (2008)

For some reason, this movie tickled me a lot. Perhaps it is because unconsciously i really like the British accent. The issue is that it really met my expectations.

I have already spoken at other times of good movies and entertaining films. This might fall into the category of most entertaining, but let that one can not pretend that watching films change their lives, albeit for a couple of hours.

The best summary is that this is an Ocean’s 13 but set in England, with fewer people, at a bank in the 70s and obviously with that accent.

Terry Leather (Jason Statham) is an offender on low while trying to give the stick to cat, keeps a luxury car garage that failed to sell. From time to time, Martine (Saffron Burrows), an old friend and attractive with what was more than just a friendship back on the scene and offered to give Terry coup that he was looking for.

Dan in Real Life (2007)

Dan (Steve Carrel) discovers in a weekend something fairly basic but at the same time also very complicated sometimes to appreciate: that is not living. Widowed, father of two daughters who are beginning to give him a few problems, Dan works for a newspaper responding to its readers’ questions sentimental nature. It is good at its job, but it seems that not much in life, because they live isolated from the world, trying to hide from what loomed behind the window. Hence, when you spend a weekend with your family and meet Marie (Juliette Binoche), which has refused understand something, but something that comes with a surprise that is not expected: the woman who has fallen in love after talking with her a few hours is the girlfriend of his brother. Along the way he met people who, like him, are looking for a place in life and help you understand your desires. However, you need an adventure: stepping into the territory of Alaska.

When Sean Penn read the bestseller by Jon Krakauer “Into the Wild”, immediately thought of a script for the movie, but the actor and director took no less than ten years to acquire the rights of history. The case of Christopher McCandless actually existed in the 90’s and his personality, half adventurous half naive, represents to many young Americans who bet on the risk to forget about their family problems. Penn, whose talent for interpreting demonstrated by the Oscar for “Mystic River”, was considered one of the most promising filmmakers in the United States thanks mainly to “Crossing the darkness” and “oath”. For his fourth feature film, Penn has rolled in all the places he visited McCandless and has divided his story in stages, to delve into the concerns and deficiencies of the protagonist.
